The Craft of Poetry (Part I)
A four-week online craft course focusing on some of the most fundamental aspects of writing and reading great poems. This course will focus specifically on syntax, line, metaphor, and diction, to learn why (and how) these crucial elements shape our understanding of a poem. Reading packets and generative exercises provided. For those who can't attend in person, a Zoom recording link will be provided.
Dates: Sundays, December 1-29, 2024, from 7-8 PM MST.
Cost: $375 per person, class capped at 20 students.

A four-week online craft course focusing specifically on rhyme, rhythm, meter and poetic form. Afraid of writing in meter? Always wanted to learn how to scan a poem? Unclear about the relationship between poetic form and content? This course will not only teach you the fundamentals of poetic prosody, but show you why and how they matter. Reading packets and generative exercises provided. For those who can't attend in person, a Zoom recording link will be provided.
